The government has launched the Kusum Solar Pump Distribution Scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana 2022. Under this scheme, farmers will only need to pay 10% of the cost for installing solar panels on their land. The state and central governments will subsidize up to 60% of the cost directly into the farmers' bank accounts, with the remaining 30% provided as a loan by banks. This loan can be easily repaid from the farmer's income.
